Dr. Celeste N. Powers chairs the Division of Anatomic Pathology and holds the endowed Saul Kay Chair in Diagnostic Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Her expertise includes head and neck, respiratory tract, infectious disease, and fine needle aspiration biopsy. She has held numerous leadership roles in USCAP, including president in 2014-2015. Dr. Miguel A. Sanchez is Chief of Pathology and Medical Director of the Leslie Simon Breast Care and Cytodiagnosis Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, and holds appointments at The Icahn Mount Sinai School of Medicine and New York University. He often lectures about the intersection of medicine and the humanities.

Dr. James Linder is President of the University Technology Development Corporation (UTDC) and Chief Strategist for the University of Nebraska. He is also Professor of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has extensive experience in the commercial sector, serving as a corporate officer and Chief Medical Officer for Cytyc Corporation, a leading manufacturer of diagnostic products and surgical devices.  His research into cervical cancer led to a form of Pap test that detects cancerous cells earlier than the previous method.  In 2009 he cofounded Constitution Medical Inc., to develop the Bloodhound™ Integrated Hematology System. This company was acquired by the Roche Group in 2013 where he served as Chief Medical Officer through 2015

 

Karen Linder

Karen Linder is a business leader, investor, author and  artist. She serves as CEO and president of Tethon 3D, a 3D printing company, and as principal of Linseed Capital, a private investment firm.  Her book, The Women of Berkshire Hathaway, was published in 2012 by John Wiley & Sons.  She was hired as the first ever Cytotechnologist at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.  In 1985, Karen moved to Omaha to join the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) as a staff Cytotechnologist, but in less than a year she was promoted to Cytology Laboratory Manager.  In 1994, she founded the UNMC Cytotechnology training program, the first and only one in the State.
